Until summer of 2001, cemetery was owned by a private citizen. At that time, he deeded the cemetery plot over to Taylor's Valley Baptist Church, which owned the cemetery many years ago. The church does not really have the resources currently to make an ambitious effort to restore the cemetery. A few descendents, including myself, are working to clean up and maintain the cemetery and later repair any broken graves. In December 2001, all vines and grass were cut, so it is temporarily accessible. I am currently working on a historical marker through the state's Historical Cemetery Desgination project. Sometime in the future, it is my hope that we can establish a cemetery association to pay for the ongoing mainenance and restoration to the cemetery. It's unlikely it can be used again, since there are likely several unmarked graves and the cemetery is just under an acre in size.
