cemetery is maintained by a neighbor who is unrelated to anyone buried there - union bethel church was removed decades ago, c. 1900 - land is owned by the Hills and the last living descendant is in the process of selling the land - i am worried about the cemetery and whether she can sell it along w. the land - her house on the adjacent land is a tear-down...

At the top of the hill, next to the cemetery is a city roads garage, years ago a stable, they have created a muddy dump like area out back of and around the side of the building with broken bottles, chemical drums, trash, paper plastic bags and broken discarded equipment. with deep muddy tire ruts all around the perimeter.

MARYLAND 19th-Century Graves to Be Moved After more than a year of research and fruitless searching for descendants, the occupants of four burial shafts are about to be moved from what once was the site of a church to make way for parking for 400-acre, $250 million Arundel Mills mall near Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Prospect Methodist Church was built in the mid-1840s. The congregation dissolved at the dawn of the Civil War when Union and Confederate loyalties divided members. Eventually the property was abandoned. Irene Callbeck, a member of the board of trustees for the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, said the church is willing to part with the property, which she said is "not large enough for us to do anything with." "It seemed the wisest thing to do was to sell," Callbeck said. "The important part was there were people buried there, and we had to do our best to find the families and find a church where these bodies could be buried." The bodies will be moved to Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church in Odenton.
